Woking Palace
The ruins of Woking Palace are situated
downstream
from the parish church of St Peters Old Woking. The
first
mention of a house on the site was in 1272. The
moated site was in a
park used by Royal visitors
including Henry the VIII.
The Woking Palace photos are scanned black and
white 35m negatives taken of the site in 1976 when
I was a member of the Mayford History Society.
The photos were taken as a record at that time and
in the hope that one day the site would attract the
interest and protection that such a Royal, Historic
and Environmentally important site should achieve.
Black and white prints and colour transparancies are
now archived with the Lightbox museum in Woking |
